DTN COMMENTS: All is quiet in the country this morning following the last
two days of trading. Asking prices for cattle left on showlists are around
$144 to $145 in the South, and $230-plus in the North. Although we may see
some light scattered sales here and there, the bulk of business is
essentially done for the week. Beef cutouts are expected to be lower with
light to moderate box movement.

So far this week, Southern live deals have been marked at $143, fully steady
with last week's weighted averages. Northern dressed transactions have been
at mostly $228, $1 lower than last week's weighted averages basis Nebraska.
Note, there were some dressed sales up to $231 on better types of cattle
yesterday.

NOTE: Feedlots are encouraged to call DTN with any cattle sales, at
1-800-369-7675, ext. 3678. All sales will be listed anonymously and
organized by state. All live sales are FOB and set for 1-9-day delivery. A
weekly summary from this data will be posted on the Weekly Cattle Sales
Reported to DTN page.
