                      USDA Actual Average Estimate Range

On Feed Feb. 1 102.3% 101.8-103.0%
Placed in January 101.5% 97.8-103.5%
Marketed in January 101.0% 97.6-101.6%

OMAHA (DTN) -- February's USDA Cattle on Feed Report looks
largely uneventful, as analysts' projections hug near steady
levels and are close to the numbers of last year's report as
well.

The closely watched placement number also lies comfortably near
steady, which makes sense, as a lot of cattle have already been
placed in feedlots in the last couple of months. If the report
holds true to analysts' projections, it shouldn't have a large
impact on the market. Feeders may appreciate that as they hope
for higher cash prices this week.

USDA will release the Cattle on Feed report at 2 p.m. CST on
Friday.
