Desert Durum Reminder 02/07/13 9:37:34 AM|
|To our valued durum wheat producers:|
Just a brief reminder, at this time of planting. Almost all of the desert durum wheat produced by our loyal growers, is identity preserved, and exported to other countries. It is important that we both know what variety has been planted, and is being delivered to our facilities.
It is also very important that desert durum wheat is not planted directly behind a field that was last harvested with barley, there needs to be 1 (one) irrigated crop, such as milo, cotton, corn silage, or alfalfa, other than barley, planted between wheat and barley. Barley as an other crop, allowed in durum wheat is minimal, and the discounts can be huge.
